Introduction to Reseller Hosting

What is included in a reseller account?

Our reseller accounts include the ability to host unlimited websites and subdomains, MySQL 5 databases, email addresses and domains, and FTP accounts.

Bandwidth is also unlimited.

The reseller account includes 300GB disk space to share between your hosted websites. This can be expanded by purchasing addons.

Setup is free and 24/7 support is included.

We also include a white label control panel, webmail login, database login and statistics page.

You will also be sent a ‘Getting Started’ pack with all of the information you need to start your reseller business. We also include in that pack a white label ‘Getting Started’ pack for your customers.

Are there any limits or restrictions?

The only limitation we have is that initial web space is 300GB to be shared between the websites and basic email configured for your customers.

However more space can be purchased as an addon.

Your account will be hosted in our award-winning, green data centre in Byfleet, which boasts:

What levels of support do you provide?

4D Support provides assistance from our dedicated team of experts on the following services for your account:

  • Advice on supported technologies  (PHP, ASP, MySQL etc…). To find out whether your application will be supported by 4D please either call support on 020 7183 0475 or log a support ticket.
  • Hosting package types (disk space and bandwidth)
  • Site optimisation/bandwidth requirements
  • Web forwarding/re-directs/subdomains/stats
  • Mailbox accounts/aliases/domains/groups/lists/limits
  • DNS/FTP/SSL

Do you provide any web applications I can offer to my customers?

We offer a large number of web applications, which can be used to create or enhance your customers’ websites.

Do you offer a white label (unbranded) control panel for my customers?

4D Hosting offer a range of white label tools for your customers, including:

  • White label website control panel
  • White label DNS server names
  • White label webmail site
  • White label database management sites
  • White label statistics page

Do you handle billing for me?

4D Hosting does not handle billing for you directly, however we do offer a number of suitable applications you can install onto your website to help manage billing for you.

Do you cover market services?

4D Hosting do not provide market services directly, however we do offer a range of tools and applications to help you out.

 

Getting Started

How do I set up my reseller hosting package?

Once purchased, you can perform the initial configuration by logging in to your 4D Hosting account and clicking Services>My Services:

Now click Configure Server:

Provide a desired username and click Save Settings:

You will now be able to Login to Control Panel:

You are now ready to set up your hosting plans.

How do I create my hosting plans?

To create your hosting plans, first log in to your reseller control panel and click Hosting Plans:

Now click Create Hosting Plan.

Here you can set up your limits for each saleable aspect of your plan:

Once you are happy with this plan’s configuration, click Save.

This will now show in your hosting plans:

At this point, you can copy this hosting plan to use it as a template for others (if you want the same limits with a few changes, this can make things much quicker).

- How do I create add-ons?

To create add-ons for your customers, log in to your reseller hosting control panel and click Hosting Add-Ons:

Now click Create Hosting Add-On:

Here, you can set up your add-ons and associated quotas. Once you are happy, click Save:

As with hosting plans, hosting add-ons can be copied to streamline the configuration process:

How do I add a customer account?

Note: You must create a hosting plan before you can provide products for your customer.

To add a customer account, log in to your 4D Hosting control panel:

Now click Create Customer.

Enter your customer’s basic details and click Create. You can also add contact information by expanding the Contact Information section:

Once your customer’s account has been created, you will be taken to their account home.

Click Create Hosting Space:

Select your hosting plan and desired hosting space status. Options will appear based on the hosting plan settings. You can set up your customer’s websites and FTP accounts from here (if enabled). Check the box for creating resources as required (ticked by default) and click Create Space.

Any settings you would like to leave to the customer to configure can be left blank.

Your new hosting space will be configured:

- How do I delete a user account?

To delete a user account (as well as all associated web spaces items, such as websites, databases and email addresses etc), log in to your reseller control panel and click Customers:

Now click the username for the user you wish to delete:

On the right-hand side, click Delete:

Tick the box to say that you understand that everything for this user will be deleted and click Delete:

The user will now be deleted.

How do I create my own site?

To create your own site, log in to your reseller control panel and click Spaces:

Now click Reseller Hosting Plan:

Now click Domains:

Now click Add Domain:

Select the type of domain you require:

Now enter your domain name and check all applicable boxes:

Now click Add Domain. This will add your domain to your account and create your website (if you kept the option checked):

Now click Web Sites, then click your domain name:

This will take you to the properties page for your website:

Going back to your reseller hosting plan, you can now also create an FTP Account or use the File Manager to upload your website or click the Web App Gallery button to install one of our Web Apps to get you started quickly.

How do I expand my disk space or purchase addons?

To expand your disk space, log in to your reseller account and click Services>My Services:

Next, select View Details next to your reseller account:

Now select the Addons tab:

Next, click Click to view available addons:

Now select your desired amount of disk space and click Order Now:

Once you have completed the checkout process, the new disk space or other addons will be available.

 

Accounts and Billing

- How do I log in to my account?

To log in to your account, visit www.4dhosting.com and click ‘Login’ at the top:

Then log in with your email address and password:

If you have forgotten your password, follow the link next to ‘Forgot Password?’.

- How do I reset my password?

To reset your password, visit www.4dhosting.com and click ‘Login’ at the top:

Then click the link next to ‘Forgot Password?’.
Then enter your email address and click ‘Submit’:

You will then be sent an email with further instructions.

- What payment options are available?

You can pay for any 4D service with a credit or debit card. You can add funds to your account using your credit or debit card for making payments later.

- How do I view my bill?

To view your bill, first log in to your 4D Hosting account.

Next, click Billing>My Invoices:

Here you will find all of the invoices for your account. Click ‘View Invoice’ next to the invoice you wish to view:

Your invoice will look similar to this:

- How do I download my bill?

To download your bill, first log in to your 4D Hosting account.

Next, click Billing>My Invoices:

Here you will find all of the invoices for your account. Click ‘View Invoice’ next to the invoice you wish to download:

Your invoice will look similar to this:

Below your invoice, you can click the ‘Download’ link to download it. This will be downloaded in PDF format and will require a PDF reader such as Adobe Reader to open.

- Can I have a VAT invoice?

All of our invoices show VAT as standard. To view your invoice, first log in to your 4D Hosting account.
Next, click Billing>My Invoices:

Here you will find all of the invoices for your account. Click ‘View Invoice’ next to the invoice you wish to view:

- How do I view old bills?

To view old bills, first log in to your 4D Hosting account.
Next, click Billing>My Invoices:

Here you will find all of the invoices for your account. Click ‘View Invoice’ next to the invoice you wish to view:

Your invoice will look similar to this:

- How do I find out what amount my next bill will be?

To view your next bill, first log in to your 4D Hosting account.
Next, click Billing>My Invoices:

Here you will find all of the invoices for your account. Click ‘View Invoice’ next to the invoice for the current month (you will receive your invoice 14 days before the due date):

This will bring up your invoice for the month.

- How do I update my credit card details?

To update your credit card details, first log in to your 4D Hosting account.
Next click Billing>Manage Credit Card:

You will be taken to the ‘Credit Card Details’ page.
Here you can update your credit card:

- My payment failed – what are my options?

If your payment fails, you can retry the payment with a new card, by firstly logging into your 4D Hosting account.
Next, click Billing>My Invoices:

Here you will find all of the invoices for your account. Click ‘View Invoice’ next to the invoice you wish to retry payment on:

This will bring up the unpaid invoice:

Click ‘Pay Now’ to retry your payment.
Here you can select an existing card registered to your account or use a different one:

Continue to retry your payment.

- How do I check my products and services?

To see your products and services, first log in to your 4D Hosting account. Visit www.4dhosting.com and click ‘Login’ at the top:

Then log in with your email address and password

Next, to show your web hosting, Exchange email or VPS services, click Services>My Services:

This will show your services:

To view your domains, click Domains>My Domains:

This will show your domains:

- How do I change the email registered on the account?

To change the email registered on your account, first log in to your 4D Hosting account.

Then click ‘Hello [User]’, then ‘Edit Account Details’:

Now change the email address to the new one and click ‘Save Changes’:



This will be your new username.

- How do I merge two accounts?

To merge two accounts, log a ticket with the details, stating each account username.
In the event one of the other account’s contact details aren’t added to your account, we will request an email from the owner of the second account to confirm they approve the merge.

- How do I make a complaint?

To make a complaint, please email complaints@4dhosting.com with as much detail about your issue as possible.

- How do I cancel my account?

To cancel your account, call our Sales team on 020 7183 3655 and they will be happy to help.

- How do I submit a ticket?

To submit a ticket, log in to your 4D Hosting account and click “Open Ticket”:

Select the relevant support department.

Fill in as much detail as possible, then click “Submit”:

You will then be given a ticket ID, which you can use to confirm the status of your ticket.

To view the status of your ticket, go to Status>Tickets. Here you will see your open tickets:

- How long does it take for a ticket to be answered?

Support tickets are usually responded to within 15 minutes. Repair times may vary depending on the nature of the issue.

- When can I call Support?

The Support team are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
